OCA Global was selected during the summer of last year to provide consulting services in the framework of the "Networks and Mechanisms of Technology Transfer for Climate Change" project, financed by the Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID).
The objective of the program, which is in its final stage, is to promote the development and transfer of environmentally friendly technologies in the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, in order to contribute to the mitigation of climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from industrial production processes.
Specifically, OCA Global has based its consulting services on a technology needs assessment with emphasis on the energy component in the Chilean steel industry.
The assessment was based on the main objectives of the Paris Agreement (UNFCCC, 2015) and had the vision and input of Chile's main iron ore and steel producers.
